Ktitor Circle
Fifteen founders for fifteen years
Kolarac, Igumanov, Luka Ćelović — Belgrade’s great endowers did not buy visibility; they left their city in their debt. To mark fifteen years of work, Kulturni element is forming, for the first time, a closed circle of partners: a small number of companies and individuals with whom we want to work for the long term, not from project to project.
Why “ktitor”
A ktitor is the Serbian word for a founder-patron — the person whose gift makes a church, a school or a hall possible and whose name stays with it. Most of what we do is free for the audience. But free for the audience does not mean free — every one of those evenings is made possible by someone.
What we offer is not advertising space but the position of a host — a place beside the artists, and programmes remembered by those who made them possible. The names of the founding members of the Ktitor Circle will be permanently recorded in the anniversary monograph; the founders’ list closes with the fifteenth member.

We present the Ktitor Circle only in person — at a time and place that suit you. Fifteen minutes is enough.
