XXII International Competition of Solo Singers "Lazar Jovanović"

We are pleased to announce that the XXII International Competition of Solo Singers "Lazar Jovanović" will be held at the prestigious National Theatre in Belgrade, from May 28 to 31, 2026.

The competition gathers young opera talents from all over the world, providing them with the opportunity to perform in front of an eminent international jury and audience on the historic Belgrade stage. During its 22 years of existence, over 2,450 participants from more than 27 countries have passed through the competition, and over 260 prizes have been awarded.

New this year: musical category!

The 2026 edition brings a significant innovation – a new category dedicated to musicals is being introduced. This expansion of the competition opens doors to talents from the world of musical theater, with the same quality standards and distinguished jury that accompany the opera program.
