The Cultural Element and the Belgrade City Museum organized a unique series of concerts in the Paja Jovanović Museum, within the third season of the cycle "Musical Vaults of Belgrade". The first concert in this intimate and historical space, held on Saturday, December 2, 2017, featured students of the "Mokranjac" Music School.
Young artists from the department for traditional singing and playing, led by their professor Miloš Nikolić, presented a rich and diverse repertoire. Through carefully selected compositions from all parts of Serbia and the region, the audience had the opportunity to get acquainted with authentic singing "on voice" and "on bass" ("na glas" and "na bas"), as well as with the sounds of traditional Serbian instruments such as the frula and kaval.
The program was a kind of musical journey – from songs from the vicinity of Belgrade and Sokobanja, through specific motifs from Kosovo and Metohija, all the way to Vlach kolos from the Negotin Krajina and songs from Bosnia. The event was received with great enthusiasm by the Belgrade audience. The project was successfully realized with the support of the Municipality of Vračar, confirming the joint mission of preserving the rich Serbian cultural and musical heritage.
