On Sunday, December 9, 2018, the audience had the rare opportunity to hear a concert performance of the famous Italian opera "La Bohème" by Giacomo Puccini. Stepping out of the classical framework of a traditional theater stage, this musical event was set in the intimate and unusual space of the "Polet" art gallery, providing the audience with a much closer and direct contact with the performers.
The Cultural Element organization established a significant international collaboration with the "Opera Pannonica" ensemble from the Academy of Arts in Osijek, a project that brings together top soloists and artists from Serbia, Croatia, and Great Britain. This international fusion of talent brought a refreshing and powerful energy to the performance of one of the most famous operatic works.
An impressive cast of soloists performed: Olivia Doutney portrayed the tragic character of Mimì, while the well-known Belgrade tenor Stevan Karanac performed as Rodolfo. The charming Musetta was played by Anja Papa, alongside Berislav Jerković in the role of Marcello. They were joined on stage by prominent artists Milan Perišić (Colline), Blaž Galojlić (Schaunard), and Vladimir Jakšić (Alcindoro). Musical direction and outstanding piano accompaniment were provided by pianist Ante Blažević.
