The Cultural Element organization realized an innovative dance educational workshop entitled "Movement of Tradition". The workshop was held on July 9, 2016, at the National Theatre in Belgrade, under the expert guidance of Marina Miletić, a ballerina of the National Theatre and one of the founders of the Cultural Element.
Young dancers from the Kragujevac folklore ensemble KUD "Dukati" were shown the finesses of beautiful movement and techniques that make ballet art sublime. Through intensive work, the participants, together with the workshop leader, created an original choreography inspired by folk tradition, but interwoven with elements of classical and contemporary stage dance.
This collaboration between the Cultural Element, the National Theatre, and KUD "Dukati" aimed not only to educate young artists but also to encourage inter-genre dialogue in art, where the traditional and the classical complement and enrich each other.
