Cultural Element and the International Solo Singers Competition "Lazar Jovanović" presented a solo concert by tenor Ermin Ašćerić within the prestigious "Winners" edition. The concert was held with great success on June 21, 2023, at the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade.
Ermin Ašćerić, alongside superb piano accompaniment by Stefan Jančić, performed an exceptionally rich and demanding program featuring works by the most prominent classical and operatic composers, including Tosti, Verdi, Bizet, Rota, Caldara, Caccini, de Curtis, as well as contemporary works by the pianist Jančić himself. Bass Milan Obradović and soprano Nevena Đoković performed as special guests of the evening. Ašćerić's performance once again confirmed the high artistic level of the winners of the "Lazar Jovanović" competition.
Ermin Ašćerić (tenor) was born on March 16, 1999, in Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He simultaneously attended two departments at the Secondary Music School "Zenica" (theoretical and solo singing departments in the class of Prof. Vesna Košpo) and the First Gymnasium in Zenica. In 2016, he won the first prize at the "Cantonal Competition" (Zenica), and in May 2017, he went to Sarajevo for a masterclass by Prof. Klaudija Krkotić. In the same year, he won two first prizes at the Federal Competition in Čitluk and the International Competition "Vera Kovač Vitkai" (Novi Sad).
In 2018, he won the first prize at the International Competition "Primavera" and successfully passed the entrance exam at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Already in his first year of studies, he won the prestigious scholarship from the Fund for the Advancement of Vocal Art "Melanija Bugarinović and Daughters Mirjana Kalinović-Kalin". As a student of the Academy of Arts, he attended masterclasses by Mihály Kálmándi (principal of the Budapest Opera) and Vera Kovač Vitkai (principal of the SNP Opera).
In 2019, he won the first prize at the International Competition "Vera Kovač Vitkai", and for the second time became the recipient of the "Melanija Bugarinović" Fund scholarship. As a member of the association "Visoko C", he participated in children's operas "Baš Čelik" and "Cinderella" in Novi Sad.
In 2020, he triumphed at the International Solo Singers Competition "Lazar Jovanović" in Belgrade by winning the first prize, followed by victories at the Festival of Slavic Music (Belgrade) and the International Competition for Young Singers "Canto Bene". In the same year, he received a prestigious scholarship to participate in the International Summer Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, as the most promising student of the department. After successfully passing the audition for the Opera Studio of the National Theatre in Belgrade, Ermin made his great professional debut on the main stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade in the role of Alfred in the operetta "Die Fledermaus".
