“Awakening of the festival” is a special manifestation that marks the jubilee of the Festival of Monodrama and Mime in a unique and different way. The awakening of the festival is a cultural artistic event that invites casual passengers to become part of a major artistic parade. A large number of participants dressed in white performs Tadija Miletić’s composition “Cultural Obsession”, accompanied by a musical ensemble and choir. All together they pass through the Zemun Quay, along with other performing artists, festival flags, pantomimists, animators and others who are using music, acting and interaction to invite random observers to join them in marking this year’s jubilee of the festival. They were all dressed in white, showing the idea that culture and art are pure and innocent, and that the real artistic achievement in its perfection is almost unattainable. The soloist Jovana Čurović, led by the column, wears the flame of art that “awakens” this year’s 40th jubilee Festival. “Awakening of the festival” is a project conceived by the organisation “Cultural Element” in Belgrade and led by Tadija Miletić.
