On Tuesday, November 28, Tadija Miletic held a workshop and a seminar “Opera for Beginners” at Music School “Stankovic”. Students at the M.Sc. Stankovic participated in the workshop, and a six-hour seminar and lecture was attended by a large number of professors and students. The music workshop is based on the work of several artistic principles such as the work of Jack Canfield and its success systems, followed by the experiences and work of the organisation Cultural Element, which organised similar workshops with its members, then RESEO, the European network for opera and dance education of young people (RESEO) and their conferences held in Belgrade in 2007, the educational methods of easy access to young people developed by Mensa, as well as the general work with young singers and performers. It encompasses a set of important theatre principles, which are the basis of creativity, as well as the formation of the good theatre practice.
The aim of the workshop is to introduce young people to the foundations of opera drama, with the basics of theatre practice, terms, work methods and behaviour. The idea is to show that the creation and participation in the opera art does not require special, unique and unreachable talents, but that each of us is able to do with a little effort and creativity, with good guidance and mutual cooperation, something that is worth the attention of another person.
