A concert of ethno music by the musical group Otročenta was held on August 20, 2016, at 8 pm in the House of King Peter I, organized by the Cultural Element. Despite centuries-old discussions about the ancestral home of the ancient Slavs, we still recognize the threads of their intangible cultural heritage today — in songs, legends, in the rhythm of the drum.
Without being tied to today's borders and newly formed states and republics, the traces of that undiscovered ancestral home and that specific "Slavic weaving" have been preserved through legends, music, the cult of the family tree... It seemed that every trace of this rich tradition was threatening to disappear, but that piece of soul, passed down from generation to generation, resisted the inexorable tooth of time.
Before the start of the concert, the audience was addressed by Dina Čubrilović, music editor of the Cultural Element, who emphasized the importance of preserving Slavic tradition and thanked the host of the evening for the cooperation. The concert was realized with the support of Lidija Jakšić on behalf of the cultural center House of King Peter, whose space represents a unique link between historical heritage and living art.
With the desire to preserve the magical embroidery of the ancestral home, we found guardians of tradition — the musical group Otročenta. Thanks to all of them, the audience that evening had the opportunity to be reminded of the importance of Slavic tradition and culture, and with music perhaps feel again that (un)hidden piece of soul, a piece of our ancestors, a piece of our past... The concert is dedicated to Dušica Delić.
