Portrait: Andrić

On Saturday, December 9, at the Ivo Andrić Museum (Andrićev venac 8/I), Cultural Element, in collaboration with the Belgrade City Museum, presented the artistic program "Andrić – Portrait and Sound" as part of the 3rd season of Musical Vaults of Belgrade. The program was prepared in honor of the anniversary of the Nobel Prize. The event featured the Animato Piano Quartet, as well as the renowned Serbian actor Tihomir Tika Stanić. From the very beginning, the audience was captivated by Stanić's convincing performance, further enhanced by the remarkable physical resemblance between Andrić and Stanić. The members of the Animato ensemble performed romantic compositions of lush sound: Turina's piano quartet evoked Spanish evenings and "Conversations with Goya," while Bridge's Phantasy depicted Andrić's escape from solitude into concert halls filled with the murmur of audiences and music.

As part of the 5th concert season of Musical Vaults of Belgrade, Cultural Element and the Belgrade City Museum organized a special program at the Ivo Andrić Museum. On Thursday, October 17, the artistic program "Portrait: Andrić" was held. The concert took place in Andrić's apartment, in the atmosphere where the writer spent the last decades of his life. The piano trio — Danica Dujaković, Angelina Živković, and Anja Petković — performed alongside the well-known Serbian actor Predrag Miletić, who guided the audience through carefully selected passages of the Nobel laureate's most profound thoughts. The musical program included works by Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, and Mendelssohn, shaping a sonic parallel to the richness of Andrić's prose.

The concert-play "Portrait: Andrić" was the first in a series of projects prepared by Cultural Element as part of its New Year programme. This time, in response to the circumstances brought on by the pandemic, the performance became part of what was called "online cultural heritage" — the audience could watch the project on the official YouTube channel of Cultural Element on Saturday, January 9, at 8 p.m. The performance featured the Elebach Quintet — Vladimir Stanišić (clarinet), Ivan Nešić (violin), Vojin Aleksić (violin), Nemanja Adamović (viola), and Tamara Ranković (cello) — alongside the young actor Ilija Blagojević, who performed two of Andrić's short stories: "Aska and the Wolf" and "The Book". The programme was directed and conceived by Tadija Miletić, with photography and video production provided by AV TEAM PRODUCTION. This project attracted significant attention from the public and the media, including an exclusive interview on RTS.
