The Kulturni element association, in fruitful cooperation with the BITEF festival, successfully implemented a significant project of donating over 600 BITEF publications during 2013 and 2014. This precious collection, covering editions from the festival's founding in 1967 until 2012, represents a true theatrological treasure. The ceremonial donation of part of the publications was held on 2 October 2013, at Cultural Centre "Parobrod".
The publications were carefully and with a clear vision donated to key libraries, theaters, faculties, and cultural centers in Belgrade. Among the institutions that enriched their collections were: the National Library of Serbia, the Belgrade City Library, the "Svetozar Marković" University Library, the Student City Cultural Centre Library, the National Theatre in Belgrade, the Yugoslav Drama Theatre, Opera and Theatre Madlenianum, the Belgrade Drama Theatre, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, the Rectorate of the University of Arts, as well as the British Council, the French Institute, the Goethe-Institut, the Cervantes Institute, the Embassy of Japan (Cultural Centre), and the Hellenic Foundation for Culture.
The primary goal of this donor project was multifaceted: to make this valuable archival material of BITEF easily accessible to students, dedicated researchers of theatrical art, as well as the widest interested public. In this way, Kulturni element actively contributed to the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of one of the most important theater festivals in the region and Europe, while simultaneously encouraging further study and promotion of theatrology.
