In cooperation with the Belgrade City Museum, and as part of the formal opening of the third concert season of the Cultural Element organization "Musical Vaults of Belgrade", on October 29, 2017, starting at 8 pm, a spectacle entitled "Red October" was held. The space of the Belgrade City Museum in Resavska became the scene of an imposing music-stage event.
This performance was created specifically to mark the centenary of the October Revolution. The authorial concept of director Tadija Miletić captured the specific, tense atmosphere that led to the regicide in Russia. The main themes of the performance were the radical changes that followed after 1917, as well as the essential meaning of revolution in today's era.
The musical part of the program was carefully selected to follow the drama of the stage events. During the performance, three emotional pieces by Jean Sibelius for violin and piano from Opus 85 were performed, as well as fragments of music inspired by the powerful compositions of Nikolai Medtner and Dmitri Shostakovich, whereby the music directly responded to the turmoil of the era.
